Bay Area Chapter meeting

Friday, April 25, 2003, Home of Bruce and Susan Worster

The Bay Area chapter of the HMCEN held a wonderful dinner meeting at the home of Bruce and Susan Worster in Saratoga on Friday, April 25th. Bruce and Susan served up a full banquet of delicious food, including some terrific steamed dumplings (see the picture). After we stuffed ourselves with dumplings and got caught up on news from friends, we all sat down in the living room and listened to a hair-raising tale of large-scale company building from Mudder Tony Li ’82. Tony is co-founder and chief scientist for Procket Networks, which had emerged from stealth mode only days before with a launch of the world’s largest (in capacity) and fastest routers. Even the been-there done-that Silicon Valley crowd was amazed at the scale and scope of Procket as a venture, as measured by the level of funding, the amazing metrics of the router chips, the size of the market , and, .... well, ask anyone who attended.

Keep an eye on Procket.

And thanks to Bruce and Susan for their generous hospitality. It was a true Mudd event and it makes us proud to be Mudders helping other Mudders.
