Seattle Chapter meeting

Friday, September 12, 2003, Home of Patrick Halstead and Naoko Ishikawa

The Seattle chapter of the HMC Entrepreneurial Network held its inaugural meeting at the beautiful Kirkland home of Patrick Halstead '91 and Naoko Ishikawa on Friday, September 12. Given the enthusiasm of those attending, it was soon apparent that this meeting was long overdue.

After sampling some delicious Salmon and sushi rolls, and after this intergenerational group of Mudders had a chance to meet and re-meet, the group sat down in a circle, heard from Jon and Gary about Mudd news, then introduced themselves one by one. It seems that a large number from the Seattle group are going through an entrepreneurial transition these days.

Then Dan Shapiro '97 got up and talked about Wildseed and the new directions that they are going, followed by Nick Rossi '93, who told ExitLight's story, then gave some much-appreciated advice about marketing techniques, based upon his experiences at ThePlatform.

As tired guests drifted home, Patrick lured a few of the curious downstairs into his high-tech home theatre, where we sat in splendid comfort and watched the opening sequence of Animatrix.

The HMCEN sincerely thanks our gracious hosts Patrick and Naoko. Their beautiful home and warm hospitality provided a welcome and comfortable setting for this important first meeting.
