Bay Area Chapter Meeting

Thursday, June 24, 2004, Home of Jerome Jackson

HMC alumnus Jerome Jackson '76 hosted the most recent meeting of the Bay Area HMCEN at his home in Los Altos Thursday evening, June 24. As can be seen from the pictures on this page, the meeting was very well attended and the spirited discussions of medical devices was very well received.

Not only did the HMCEN ask Jerome to host the meeting, we also asked him to make the primary presentation for the evening, based upon an earlier presentation that Jerome had made for the Bruce Nelson Speaker Series at HMC in the spring. Under the watchful eyes of Stellartech CEO Roger Stern and colleague/Mudder Jennifer Hodor, '96, Jerome described the unusual business model that has made Stellartech so successful in the risk-prone world of medical devices.

Most members of the audience (hardware and software folks) were unfamiliar with the strangely different world of medical devices. Jerome's informative talk was followed by a very involved discussion about the business side of medical devices and the risks and payoffs that are peculiar to this still-evolving industry.

The Bay Area HMCEN knows how to blend learning with pleasure. As always there was plenty of great food and a wide variety of wine and other beverages. Old friends caught up on the news and new friends were made. See the pics!!

The HMCEN deeply thanks Jerome Jackson for his wonderful hospitality.
