Bay Area Chapter Meeting

The Bay Area chapter of the HMCEN held a regional meeting at the home of Sergio and Anna Marie Perez in San Jose on June 23 rd . The thirty-or-so guests attending included some old HMCEN veterans like Michael Hughes '73 and Paul Hagelin '91 and some newcomers, like Andrew Fernandez '99 and recent graduate Shamit Grover '05.
Duane Kuroda '91, presently VP of Marketing for BitPass, told the BitPass story to an attentive group. BitPass is a company that allows prepaid clients to buy digital content, including small transactions, on the internet (see their website at http://www.bitpass.com ). Duane's talk was followed by a brief presentation by Jose Blanc, Managing Director of Intel Capital.
As always at these meetings, there were plenty of refreshments and some excellent food to chew on while mulling over various entrepreneurial opportunities. The HMCEN sincerely thanks Sergio and Anna Marie for hosting this event.
For those of you who live in the northern end of the Bay Area, we promise that the next regional meeting will be held somewhere up north to give all of you a chance to attend.
